UPDATE FOR FALL 2024 SEASON:
We look forward to continuing PYF’s rich tradition of developing the qualities of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical well-being on the football field.
1st & 2nd graders will participate in an intramural style flag season. Target start date for the first day of flag practice will be Tuesday, September 10th. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday 6:00-7:15pm at the Glover Complex (usually on Ritchie Bell Field) and will end in late October.
3rd/4th & 5th/6th graders will be once again competing in the Westchester Youth Football League (WYFL) this year.
Games will mostly take place on Sundays but could also be played on Saturdays due to each town’s respective field availability.
There will be 6 regular season games and up to 2 playoffs games. The first regular season game is in mid-September and the playoffs conclude at the end of October / early November.
The summer practices will start on Monday Aug 12th and there will be 3-4 practices per week. We hope that once practice begins we will be able to have as many children signed up present.
Practices during the fall will most likely be on TUESDAY AND THURSDAY evenings. 7:00-8:30pm.
The WYFL has a rule limiting the number of players on a town’s team in order to help guarantee playing time for all players. While we want to promote the game of football to all, PYF also has to evaluate whether we have adequate resources to coach and manage two separate teams properly. As a result, we have decided to provide a roster spot for the first 30 players registered. After we reach that number, we will have a ‘waitlist’. If we far exceed that number and have appropriate resources, we will accommodate 2 teams and players will come off the waitlist and will get a roster spot. Registrants would also come off the waitlist if we have any registration cancellations. Please do not delay. This will be a first come first serve situation only. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Our Mission: To assist our local youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical well-being. PYF’s main goal is to utilize the platform of football to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
